It is a Journey – How you travel on that journey is up to you!

There has been much written about purpose and meaning in life – how to find it, how to keep it, how to embrace it, etc. I was very fortunate to be made aware of several people early and their insights on how to do those things. Viktor Emil Frankl  was profoundly impactful for me and my journey.

So was the book Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior by David R. Hawkins, where he advises that power is a source of inner strength that comes from compassion, understanding, and love. Force, on the other hand, is external and relies on fear, coercion, and manipulation.

When you put both of these influencers together you may find both the how to and why finding purpose is so significant. More importantly, you may finds why not finding it is so painful.

Mentoring and collaborating are 2 ingredients of the magic sauce.

The how of living one’s purpose is multi-dimensional and unique for all. According to Hawkins, you may want to be aware of the following along your own journey:

Here are some other differences between power and force:
Source: Power comes from within, while force is external.
Results: Power produces lasting results, while force is a temporary solution that leads to undesirable consequences.
Reactivity: Force is reactive and below the level of courage, while power is proactive and above the level of courage.
Emotions: Force arises when we feel shame, fear, anger, and pride, while power comes when we operate from a higher consciousness of love.
Humility: True power is humble, while force is arrogant.

Ask yourself…how well am I doing with these?
